Why I love Airbnb's little dangling price tag

I've been obsessed with Airbnb's design for years. Its typography, shadows and spacing impress me, but its animated price tag makes buying feel approachable.

I've been obsessed with Airbnb's design aesthetic for years. The newer improvements I've noticed are minor, but I still think they're wonderful. The whole site is just so vibrant, and I'm so impressed by it.

What gets me is the craft. The typography they use is wonderful. Then there are the radiuses, the drop shadows, the spacing and the iconography. They make their images so vibrant and high resolution. Even the small mouseover effects are beautiful. To me, it all comes together as just so perfect. They spent so much time on the craft.

The detail I've always loved most is their little price tag. It's a cute tag that dangles, and it's animated, with physics to it. It's brilliantly designed, and it makes buying something feel approachable.
